Law Entrance Exams: Overview of Exams

CLAT 2025

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralized national-level entrance exam for admission to 25 of the 27 National Law Universities (NLU), except NLU Delhi and NLU Meghalaya.

The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is used by NLU Delhi to determine admissions. NLU Meghalaya, on the other hand, also conducts its entrance exam.

National University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) administers the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) for admission to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral (PhD) level legal courses. It is a national-level entrance test for admission to law programs solely at NLU Delhi.

SLAT stands for Symbiosis Law Admission Test. It is a single admissions test for Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS) in Pune, Noida, Hyderabad, and Nagpur. BA LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BA LLB, and BBA LLB are the available courses for admission.

MHCET-law

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law (MH CET Law) is a state-level test administered by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra for admissions to legal degrees provided at participating law institutions in Maharashtra. The MHCET legal test is two hours long and is conducted online in a computer-based mode.
