03 Enrollment & Fee Policy

Enrollment at Surya Law Academy is confirmed only upon receipt of the course fee (full or agreed first instalment). The following conditions apply:

  • Seat reservation is on a first-come, first-served basis. A confirmed fee receipt is required to hold a seat.
  • Batch sizes are limited (typically 15–25 students) to ensure personalised attention. Early enrollment is strongly advised.
  • Fee structure varies by batch type (Foundation / Intensive / Crash Course), mode (offline / online), and duration. Contact us for the current fee schedule.
  • EMI/Instalment Plans: Available for long-duration courses (Foundation and Intensive batches). Instalment schedules must be agreed upon and signed at the time of enrollment.
  • Failure to pay an instalment on the agreed date may result in temporary suspension of access to classes and study materials until dues are cleared.
  • All fees are payable to Surya Law Academy via bank transfer, UPI, or cash at our Chandigarh centre. We do not accept payments through agents or third parties.
⚠️ Beware of Fraud: SLA does not authorise any external agents or franchisees to collect fees on our behalf. Always obtain an official SLA fee receipt. Report suspicious collection attempts to +91-8591-850950.

05 PG Assistance — Scope & Limitations

Surya Law Academy provides complimentary guidance to outstation students from Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh in locating safe, verified, and affordable Paying Guest (PG) accommodation near our Sector 25-D centre in Chandigarh.

⚠️ Critical Clarification: Surya Law Academy does not own, operate, manage, lease, or sublet any hostel, PG facility, or residential property. Our role is strictly that of a referral facilitator — we assist students in finding options; we are not a party to any accommodation agreement.

The following conditions define the scope of SLA's PG assistance:

  • SLA connects students with PG owners/operators from our verified network near Sector 25-D.
  • All accommodation agreements (rent, deposit, rules) are entered into directly between the student/parent and the PG owner. SLA is not a party to these agreements.
  • SLA makes reasonable efforts to verify the safety and quality of recommended PG options but cannot guarantee standards of living, hygiene, facilities, or management of third-party accommodation.
  • SLA bears no liability for any disputes, damages, losses, or incidents arising from a student's stay at any recommended PG facility.
  • Disputes between students and PG owners must be resolved directly between those parties.
  • PG assistance is a free-of-charge, best-effort service offered as a convenience to enrolled students. It does not form part of the coaching contract.

06 Student Conduct & Discipline

Students enrolled at Surya Law Academy are expected to maintain academic discipline and respectful conduct at all times. The following rules apply:

  • Regular attendance is expected. Habitual absenteeism (below 70% attendance without valid reason) may result in exclusion from mock test series or personal mentorship sessions.
  • Students must not record, reproduce, share, upload, or distribute any SLA class recordings, study material, mock tests, or question papers without prior written permission from SLA management.
  • Any form of harassment — verbal, physical, or digital — directed toward faculty, staff, or fellow students will result in immediate termination of enrollment without refund.
  • Students must not misuse SLA's WhatsApp groups, online portals, or communication channels for purposes unrelated to CLAT preparation.
  • Mobile phones must be on silent mode during classroom sessions. Disruptive use of devices during class is not permitted.

SLA reserves the right to terminate enrollment of any student who violates these conduct standards. Termination on conduct grounds does not entitle the student to a fee refund.

07 Study Material & Intellectual Property

All study materials provided by SLA — including but not limited to printed books, PDFs, question banks, mock tests, Current Affairs compendiums, video lectures, and class notes — are the exclusive intellectual property of Surya Law Academy.

  • Materials are licensed to enrolled students for personal, non-commercial study use only.
  • Reproduction, redistribution, resale, uploading to any platform, or sharing with non-enrolled individuals is strictly prohibited and constitutes copyright infringement.
  • Unauthorised distribution of SLA's materials may result in legal action under the Copyright Act, 1957 (India).
  • Study materials remain the property of SLA and cannot be returned for refund once delivered.

08 Online Classes & Digital Access

Students enrolled in online or hybrid batches receive access to live sessions, recorded lectures, and digital resources via SLA's designated platform. The following terms apply:

  • Login credentials are issued to the enrolled student and are non-transferable. Sharing credentials with others is a breach of these terms.
  • Recorded lectures are provided for personal revision only. Screen recording or downloading of sessions is prohibited.
  • SLA is not liable for class disruptions caused by internet connectivity issues, platform outages, or force majeure events (power failures, natural disasters, governmental orders).
  • In the event of a missed live session due to technical failure on SLA's part, a recording of that session will be made available to affected students within 48 hours.
  • Online access credentials are valid for the duration of the enrolled batch only and do not extend beyond the course end date.

09 Results, Success Rates & Disclaimers

Surya Law Academy is committed to displaying only genuine, verified results from actual enrolled students. We do not fabricate, inflate, or misattribute any rank or selection.

Our Commitment: Every NLU selection rank displayed on our website (AIR 17, AIR 32, etc.) belongs to an actual SLA student. We do not claim credit for students coached elsewhere.

The following disclaimers apply to all results, success rates, and testimonials displayed by SLA:

  • Past results (including the stated 85% success rate and 1000+ NLU selections since 2012) are based on historical performance and do not guarantee future results for any individual student.
  • CLAT outcomes depend on multiple factors including a student's individual effort, preparation consistency, aptitude, and exam-day performance — all of which are beyond SLA's control.
  • Student testimonials reflect genuine individual experiences and may not be representative of all students' outcomes.
  • SLA's success rate is calculated based on enrolled students who appeared in CLAT and secured NLU admissions in the same year.

10 Privacy & Data Collection

By submitting any form on our website or enrolling at SLA, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information (name, phone number, email, city, class) for the following purposes:

  • Processing your enrollment and communicating batch details.
  • Sending relevant CLAT preparation updates, batch schedules, and study materials via WhatsApp, SMS, or email.
  • Internal performance tracking and mentorship planning.
  • Improving our advertising and outreach to reach students who may benefit from CLAT coaching.

SLA does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes. For complete information, see our Privacy Policy.

11 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under applicable Indian law, Surya Law Academy's total liability to any student shall not exceed the total course fee paid by that student in the 12 months preceding the claim.

SLA is not liable for:

  • Any failure to qualify CLAT or secure NLU admission, regardless of coaching received.
  • Losses arising from reliance on third-party PG accommodation recommended by SLA.
  • Indirect, consequential, or incidental losses of any nature.
  • Interruptions to service caused by events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
  • Changes in CLAT exam pattern, syllabus, or schedule announced by the Consortium of NLUs.

12 Changes to These Terms

Surya Law Academy reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. When material changes are made, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
  • Notify enrolled students via WhatsApp or email of significant changes.

Continued use of SLA's services after updated Terms have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you may request enrollment termination per the refund policy in Section 4.

13 Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms, the enrollment agreement, or SLA's services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chandigarh, Union Territory, India.
